Luke Ellis
Founder
After studying at Central Saint Martins and working as a joinery designer for a London-based studio, Luke founded K&L in the coastal town of Whitstable, making furniture and selling it from a little shed on the beach. Since moving the company to London in 2016, he has grown it from a furniture maker into a full interior design and managed build studio, while keeping the focus firmly on beautifully made, locally produced joinery. With deep expertise in joinery and a love of objects and the details that make them special, he brings a maker’s eye to every project. His ethos for K&L Design Studio remains the same: timeless, well-made spaces and pieces, built to be loved for years to come.
